Despite the once in a hundred year depression, 1200 USD skincare cream is doing well on its sale.
Japanese cosmetic company Kanebo released a skincare cream that cost 120 thousand yen (approx. 1200 USD) in 2005. Around 10,000 of them were sold in the first year. It is selling in the same pace since then. So 12 hundred million Yen (Approx. 12 hundred million USD ….I’m I right? Counting number is still hard for me.) Wow, I didn’t know that cosmetics make such money, plus it comes in constant.
Kanebo’s advertisement manager says that “75% of the user is a repeater. Many of them are four year user, so we assume many of them will keep using and become a five year user. 70% of the user is 50-70 years old. Some says that they don’t care how much money they spend for their beauty. 30% of the users are 20-40.”
Mmm, I do care about beauty and skincare but I can’t spend that much money! A cream costs more than half of my monthly income. Ridiculous.
How rich is Japanese women?
